“Fish Huron Ohio” is devoted to spreading the word regarding one of the greatest fresh water fisheries in North America. The construction of the four new boat ramps along the Huron River will offer the city of Huron the opportunity to better serve its visitors while meeting all of their fishing needs.
Huron is a deep water river port known as the place to be in the fall for hog walleyes, but those who live there know that the walleye fishing from March to December is an experience of a lifetime. The unbelievable smallmouth fishing along with the best perch fishing in North America happens to also take place in Huron. Cat fishing from the bank of the Huron River is productive; while Northern Pike or even the elusive Muskie can be found up river.
Huron, Ohio is nestled deep within the Western basin of Lake Erie; a short 55 miles west of downtown Cleveland. Conveniently located within 10 miles of Cedar Point Amusement Park and numerous water parks the small quaint town of Huron has an abundant of entertainment options to offer visitors of all ages. Family-friendly restaurants, the best sandy beaches on the North Coast, along with the fantastic sights and sounds from the beautiful lakefront parks makes Huron a great place to visit. During the summer months the Huron Boat Basin Amphitheatre offers free concerts and entertainment every week-end and “Movies By the River” on Wednesday evenings.
So come see for yourself why Huron, Ohio is called….”The Great Lake Place!”
